ANSI 1.5B / VT52BIS
An Extended Terminal Emulator for HP48
Here it is: a fast and very complete terminal emulator
for HP48 with a lot of features! Intended as terminal for a Linux
system, but useful for other purposes as well.
FEATURES
-
Entirely System RPL & Machine Language, so very fast
-
33x10 characters on screen (may be extended to e.g. 80x24, but scrolling
is very slow)
-
Support for inverse="standout" mode (slow but needed in Lynx); with/without
standout mode is changeable at any moment
-
Up to ten concurrent screens, just like the Linux console
-
Display is password-lockable
-
Digraphs ("e, ae etc.) can be entered easily with a "Compose"-like key
-
Can scroll back a few screenfulls for each concurrent screen
-
Copy/Paste facility (rather laborious but sometimes useful)
-
User-redefineable key mapping, with possibility for multi-character sequences
bound to a single key
-
Default key mapping resembles well-known VT52/VT23 key mapping very closely;
includes a full set of cursor keys and ten function keys
-
Comes in a full and a mini version
-
Extensively documented
-
May be distributed/modified under the terms of the GNU General Public License

DOWNLOAD
For your convenience, there are two archive formats available: .tgz
for Linux/*UX systems, and .zip for other systems. They may be
downloaded from the following locations:
-
Rotterdam, The Netherlands: ansi15b.tgz
or ansi15b.zip
-
HPCalc.org, US: ansi15b.zip
NOTE: If you extract with pkunzip: use the -d option!
NOTE2: the contents were TESTED ONLY on a HP48G revision R. It may
break your system -- USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
NOTE3: Additional info not included in vt52bis.txt:
some Red Hat systems don't understand the -L option in the extra
getty line in /etc/inittab; in that case you must remove
the -L and change 9600 into DT9600.
